About Me

Hi there!  My name is Mary, a recent college graduate just trying to figure this life thing out.  I recently graduated from the University of Chicago with a degree in Political Science and Comparative Race & Ethnic Studies, and I'm currently conducting research in Senegal on a Fulbright grant.

I've been wanting to share more of my writing with the world for some time now, but self-doubt and fear of failure kept me from actually doing so.  A Fulbright year presented a great opportunity to overcome these anxieties and begin sharing more of my thoughts, experiences, and musings with my loved ones (and with the world), so... Blackbird Blair was born!
